Currently this is exclusive for Carrier as the since the system is configured with Carrier Air Condtioners.
The Smart+Cool has surge protection which will prevent the plug from being damaged.
Currently the Smart+Cool app is a stand alone app, but we are working on integrating other third party technologies in future updates.
Yes. However, we do not encourage this. Why? Because we want to provide a personalized service and using the plug with another AC will not allow us to do that for the following reasons:
The customer service team that will provide assistance (via chat, request for serivice, etc.) will only be dedicated to Carrier Smart+Cool consumers. Therefore, they won't be enjoying the full features and functionalities of the app.
During manufacturing stage, the Smart+Cool plug and the Carrier air condintioning unit are paired to ensure that all data about the unit will already be available in the system. This way, when the consumer calls in the future, he won't have to provide the same details anymore. Therefore, faster service.
For the benefit of the consumers, we want to provide an accurate read of the aircon's performance. If they use it with a non-Smart+Cool AC, then we won't be able to provide the right baseline reading.
The Smart+Cool plug is unable to read the energy consumption of the electric fan, since the Energy Saving Plug (ESP Plug) is controlled by the air conditioner not the Smart+Cool plug.

For Manual Window type (WRAC) models Once the Smart+Cool plug is connected to your air conditioner, manually turn on the air conditioner, then turn on the air conditioner from the app and you’re done!
For Remote Window type (WRAC) models Once the Smart+Cool plug is connected to your air conditioner, use the mobile app and turn the air conditioner on from the dashboard, then use your air conditioner's remote control to manually turn the air conditioner on. Note that at this stage, you should now only control your air conditioner with your mobile device or iPad through the Smart+Cool app.
Yes it is possible to have multiple paired Smart+Cool plugs in one account. To do this just follow the same steps to pair each plug these will then all be displayed on your Dashboard.
Smart plugs could be managed as well in multiple locations set during the pairing of the plug.
As mentioned in deactivating your account and if you decide to "reactivate' , one must create a new profile since the previous account has already been deleted and cannot be retrieved any longer.
Your Smart+Cool is designed with a plug and receptacle specifically for air conditioners. While you could use adapters to plug in other appliances, we don’t recommend this as the adapter may cause compatability issues with the Smart+Cool and cause damage to the unit.
Yes with as many mobile devices needed, as long as the mobile device has the Smart+Cool mobile app installed and the Smart+Cool plug has also been configured in the app via BT and Wi-Fi. Simply log in using the same account credentials as with your other mobile devices to view the plugs that you are currently connected with
Turn off and disconnect your air conditioner and remove the Smart+Cool plug from the power socket.
While plugging the Smart+Cool plug back into the power socket, hold down the LED light button at the same time, and continue doing so while you plug the Smart+Cool plug in. Continue holding the LED button for around 5-10 seconds, or until you notice both RED and GREEN lights flickering rapidly, indicating a factory reset has been successfully started.
Once factory reset is complete, both LED’s will power off as the unit resets, and return to a “new” state with both RED and GREEN blinking
Important: Keep in mind that once plug has reset, you need to reconfigure any saved alerts and notifications since this will have been deleted due to restoration to factory settings.
Sometimes, due to internet connectivity issues, you may experience a "lock-up" of the Smart+Cool plug. While our software is designed to handle this, there may be times when it becomes necessary to restart the plug.
Simply remove the Smart+Cool Plug from the wall socket, wait 15 seconds, then gently plug it back in. You'll observe the Smart+Cool plug restarting (Green and Red LED flashing once a second). Once the Smart+Cool plug has reconnected to your WIFI network, the Green LED will become solid, shortly followed by the Red LED also becoming solid
Your plug is now operational again, and can be controlled via the mobile app.

The scheduler feature is most likely ON, and the current time has been set for the air conditioner to be OFF.
If in case you previously turned OFF your scheduler then turned it back ON if the schedule is currently on a pre-set-time that the air conditioner is supposed to be off the air conditioner will automatically turn OFF, to prevent this you can turn the scheduler OFF to allow manual operation.
Note also that if this is the first time using your Smart+Cool plug, it may be updating its software, after which time the plug will reset, causing the air conditioner to turn off. Once the plug has completed the software update, indicated by normal LED operation, you can attempt to turn the air conditioner back on using the app.
Check that your mobile device has data activated (3G/LTE), and that you can access the internet through other services such as a web browser
Check your home internet is working properly.
Check that the green LED indicator on the Smart+Cool plug is either SOLID or FAST BLINKING, and not blinking at 1 second intervals.
If it is blinking at 1 second intervals, this means it has no Wi-Fi connection. Check that the Wi-Fi router is turned ON, and other devices can connect to it. If the Wi-Fi password has recently been changed, you may need to update the Wi-Fi password in the Smart+Cool plug by using the “Manage plug” option.
Make sure that the air conditioner itself is turned on. For manual units, the on/off knob should be turned to ON. For remote units, use the remote to turn the air conditioner on first to synchronize it with the status of the mobile app.
Password field is caps sensitive so make sure that you type your password in its exact format (upper and/or lowercase).
Make sure your WIFI router is operating at 2.4GHz. Some routers operate in “dual band” mode, and may need to be configured to offer 2.4GHz as a specific connection.
Check the manual for your Wi-Fi router, or contact your wi-fi provider for assistance.
